This year's Wairua Warrior promises to be the most captivating and awe-inspiring yet, at the fabulous Nelson Obstacle Park, known for its diverse challenges and being the largest Obstacle Course in New Zealand. Get ready for a mind-blowing experience that will leave you breathless and wanting more. So gather your friends and rally your spirits for an unforgettable adventure.
Our courses cater to all levels, offering 3km, 5km and 10km races featuring over 50 fun and challenging obstacles in a single loop that will push you to your limits. Whether you are an experienced obstacle course racer or simply seeking an invigorating adventure, this is your chance to awaken your inner warrior! You can participate solo or gather your friends and register as a team in the open categories. For our young warriors aged 6 to under 14, we have a 2.5km race.
In 2025, Wairua Warrior presents an exclusive chance for our Elite racers to participate in the 3km 5km and 10km races across two days at one event. This event is the only one that offers this unique opportunity.
Wairua Warrior presents an exclusive chance for our Elites and for the best-of-the-best to collect three sets of points, qualifying for our new Trifecta and the chance to gain points in the NZOSA OCR National series. Giving those participating a step towards New Zealand World Obstacle Championships and potentially as a part of the modern Pentathlon in the 2028 Olympics.
In addition, Wairua Warrior presents a direct pathway for some to compete internationally and represent New Zealand at the OCR World Championships. Compete, conquer and connect in your Black Warrior Kit!
